Dimensionics company history
From an idea to the finished product: Just like our systems, Dimensionics was born out of an intellectual exercise. The basic idea was to give engineers from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania the opportunity to offer a regional starting point and to work together with the large companies. Dimensionics then gradually grew into an expert in solutions in special applications and specialised engineering. Today, we are established on the market and can look back on numerous partnerships and successful products. But even this path was arduous and reflects the will of every single employee to create something great here.
Foundation of Dimensionics GmbH
Jan Wenzel founded Dimensionics GmbH with a great deal of passion and with the aim of advising customers on choosing measuring technology. One of the first projects is the measurement broker developed in-house.
Brother Jörg Wenzel strengthens the company
Following the unification of the Wenzel brothers, the office in the Warnemünde Technology Centre is used for customer service. The writing of specifications and small programming tasks are on the agenda. This “apprenticeship period” is dedicated to building up contacts in the local area.
Switching to our own systems
After several specifications came the crucial statement: if you can describe it, it can be built. This milestone marks the beginning of the transformation from a simple engineering service provider to a fully-fledged development company.
Growth in the company
Ever larger orders and a growing customer base require more employees. Dimensionics is growing continuously and specialises in the field of metrology. The focus is on metrological development and on reading and processing sensor data.
Dimensionics at the Motek & Control Trade Fairs
Following small trade fair appearances at the Rostock supplier fair and at the NordTec in Hamburg, Dimensionics appears at metrology trade fairs for the first time. Control and Motek become great successes. Relationships with customers that continue to this day were established here.
The old home quickly becomes too small
Due to the more complex and ever larger systems, the office in Warnemünde quickly becomes too small. A move happens quickly and Dimensionics establishes the production site in Kessin. The focus expands to the area of special solutions & special machines.
First investment abroad
Dimensionics operates internationally for the first time. The first systems are installed in other EU countries. More will follow, but from this point on it is certain: Dimensionics wants to be represented internationally too.
The beginning of the DISIONIC line
With the DISIONIC CASE the DISIONIC TABLE and the DISIONIC CIRCLE three products from our in-house product line are already ready for the market. All the systems are the result of specific enquiries and a glimpse into the needs and wishes of our customers.
Automation as a new focus
The actuator technology had to adapt to the sensor technology due to the growing complexity of the tasks and the resulting measurement concepts. The result was the simultaneous development of both areas and entry into the field of process automation.
Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises
In 2017, only 7 years after the official foundation of the company, Dimensionics is delighted to be nominated for the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” due to the company’s steady development.
Dimensionics leaves the EU for the first time
A complex system is developed for a partner outside the European Union for the first time. In November 2017, the first Dimensionics plant in Asia is put into operation in Singapore.
The expansion of the standard product line
Dimensionics receives various enquiries in 2017, the implementation of which result in the birth of standard products for our successful DISIONIC LINE: the DISIONIC PRESS, DISIONIC BEARING, DISIONIC LEAKAGE and the DISIONIC SENSOR. Even though the developments are not yet completed, 2017 is the most productive year for our successful product line. This was followed by a number of custom developments for well-known large companies that benefit from these new systems.
Dimensionics as a training company
The basic idea of strengthening our own region runs like a thread through the history of Dimensionics. The next step comes in 2018: DIMENSIONICS becomes a training company. The versatility of the applications and the scope of insights enable young people to gain a wide range of experience in the fields of mechanics, electronics and sensor technology.
Dimensionics in the Middle Kingdom
The largest project in the history of Dimensionics GmbH to date culminates in 2019. Two identical plants, planned as partial lines of a production line, are developed and completed in parallel. While one plant is used in Germany, the twin plant is shipped to China.
DISIONIC DENSITY
A specific request got the ball rolling. The fully automated determination of density in a production environment being an interesting task, a motivated team to come up with a solution and support from the state and federal government all made the development of the DISIONIC DENSITY possible. The high demand and the enormous potential of the system led to the creation of DENSITY GmbH. It is to provide our customers with the best possible support in all aspects of density determination.
